Guided Float Trips on Montana’s Madison River
When it comes to fly fishing, you just can’t beat the fun and excitement of a float trip with an MRO guide on Montana’s Madison River.
The float section of the Madison is unique in that there is no unproductive fly water. Every foot of the river is capable of producing rainbow and brown trout eager to rise to a dry fly or grab a drifting nymph. Float fishing allows you to fish many miles of river you would not otherwise see and to put your fly over more trout in one day than you normally do in a week while on foot. Most of the fishing is done from our McKenzie style drift boats but there are many productive runs we can stop to wade as well. In addition to great fishing, a float trip offers anglers spectacular views throughout the Valley. Whether you are a novice or advanced angler, our guided float trips are simply a very enjoyable way to fish the Madison River. All of our float trips are full day trips with roughly eight hours of fishing. Most guided float trips begin at 8:00 a.m. at our shop in West Yellowstone. However, during July and August, anglers can take advantage of the fine evening fishing on the Madison River by meeting later and fishing through the late hours of the day.
Rates for float trips:
- $440 for one angler
- $450 for two anglers
Float trips prices include guide service, lunches, and transportation.
