Just got a pair of Simms Wet Wading boot with the felt sole. I've worn them several times now and really like them. The sole which has a center of felt and rubber vibram sides works great. The rubber grips well on wet muddy banks and the felt sticks well to slippery banks. A big feature is the slim profile of the boot. It's more like a hiking boot rather than a wading boot which gives better support on those long hikes. Now I don't need to pick between my felt soled boots or my rubber soled boots. I now have one with both felt and rubber. I would definitely recommend these. - John Schilling
