By their nature, knitted garments are prone to pilling, and this style is no exception. Removing pills can help lengthen the life of your Patagonia sweater, plus it’s easy to do with a sweater stone.
Here’s the dilemma: It’s not quite rainy enough for a hard shell, but you don’t want to thrash your puffy busting brush on the way to the water. Combining warmth, durability and freedom of movement, our new, fish-specific Tough Puff Hoody solves the problem with a stretchy and abrasion-resistant face fabric that moves with you and, thanks to a DWR (durable water repellent) coating, shakes off moisture or passing showers. Inside, the Tough Puff keeps you warm with the same ultralight, 60-g FullRange® polyester stretch insulation we use in our Nano-Air® designs. Two large, vertical fly-box pockets on the front, two zip-closure handwarmer pockets, and a moisture-wicking, 100% recycled polyester Capilene® body lining round out the technical package for ultimate comfort on the water.
Durable 100% polyester (46% recycled) outer shell with mechanical stretch and moisture-shedding DWR (durable water repellent) finish; Fair Trade Certified™ sewn
60-g FullRange® 100% polyester (40% recycled) stretch insulation offers excellent breathability, warmth, and freedom of motion; stays warm when wet
100% recycled polyester Capilene® lining in the body for comfort and efficient moisture management

Little Parts from the YKK® Fastening Products Group create The Big Difference for our customers — fastening solutions intelligently integrated with the finished product to provide the highest quality, most durable gear. The Little Parts — zippers, metal buttons and snaps, and Nylon buckles — all earn the YKK® brand. The Big Difference begins with their obsession to ensure that every individual component renders maximum value to the finished whole. That commitment instills quality and value into every product. Simms utilizes fasteners built to withstand the harshest environments and YKK® provides the best solutions to meet those needs. All Simms outerwear features nylon YKK® zippers to minimize corrosion and provide high performing, durable wear.
At Simms, sun protection is a critical component of our sportswear offering. Through a combination of fabric construction, design and finish, we offer a wide range of clothing that features a minimum UPF of 30 (very good) up to UPF of 50 (excellent). UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor and indicates how much of the sun's UV radiation is absorbed. A fabric with a rating of 50 will allow only 1/50th of the sun's UV rays to pass through. This means the fabric will reduce your skin's UV radiation exposure significantly. All of our UPF finishes last the life of the garment, an industry standard of 30 washings.
