Over that past week, several of MRO’s Team Members have been getting out to float and fish the Upper Madison whether individually or with our immediate family (have to practice that social distancing). Last week was awesome with temperatures in the mid to upper 50’s. The river continues to run cold and clear. However, that didn’t last long as we woke up to minus 8 Monday morning with more cold and snow predicted until Saturday when it looks like it will warm up again.

So far our snowpack has been holding steady with areas still reporting water content above average. This should provide us with a boost of cold river water for the coming summer months and help keep the fish happy.
At this point, I don’t have any reports on how the Gallatin River is fishing. I did take a quick drive down the Gallatin Valley yesterday and Taylors Fork was starting to get muddy and turning the Gallatin a very nice fishy looking of green. May have to get down there and fish it soon.
With that being said we’ve been able to catch some nice trout while fishing with dries, nymphs, and streamers. Below is a general consensus of what everybody has been catching fish on.

#16-20 Parachute Adams
#16-18 Front End Loader
