The temperature has dropped the past week and we're getting some snow again. Hebgen & Quake Lake have frozen over, so we done fishing these until spring Between the lakes is very accessible with your best bet being nymphs and streamers. You'll still see some lake run browns there. The Upper Madison has also been fishing well with nymphs and streams. The midge hatches have been few and far in between due to cold water temperatures and sunny days.
Dry Flies: #18 to #20 Sparkle Duns, Missing Links & Still Born Midges.
Nymphs: #8 Black Sili Legs, #10 Biot Golden Stones, #18 Lightning Bugs, #18 Green Machines

Hebgen & Quake Lakes: The ice is now officially gone on both Hebgen & Quake. Its been very hit or miss but if you can time it right and get a day with little to no wind, the chironomid fishing has been pretty solid. Streamers have been moving some fish on the less than ideal condition days. Smaller midge nymphs like buzzers and ice cream cones have been the ticket though as of late.
